The standard procedure for joining EGHAA is as follows:
You must first fill out a membership application (Available at the link above), and you must be sponsored by an existing member on your application. This can be a member that you already know, or you will be given the information of a member who will take you out to the club as a guest who will consider sponsoring you.
After your application has been completed, and you have been sponsored, you will have to attend a monthly club meeting to hand in the application, and a vote will be cast by the attending membership to accept you.
Once you have been voted in, your membership initiation fee of $275.00 must be given to the club, along with your first year membership dues ($90 for a single membership, $100 for a family membership).
Upon completion of orientation, you will be given a front gate key to gain access to the club grounds.
As of the time that you get this key, you will be considered a probationary member of EGHAA with full access and use of the club grounds, except for the clubhouse.
Range use is restricted to these hours: 8am until dusk Monday through Saturday. Sunday 12noon until dusk.
You will be given full access to our 100yrd rifle range, archery target lanes, archery woodland bush course, 25yrd, 50yrd, and action ranges upon joining. Please note that EGHAA has requirements in place for the use of handguns, and movement while shooting.
Membership Restrictions
Movement/Traveling while shooting a firearm of any type/caliber on all EGHAA ranges is prohibited, unless you are participating in a formal IPSC sanctioned event, and/or you have been deemed competent by the EGHAA Executive Council.
We have a requirement for handgun use at the club. You must take a CFO approved handgun safety course run by EGHAA. Other previous training is disregarded, and cannot be transferred to our club. This course is offered several times throughout the year by EGHAA, and is included free of charge with your initiation fee.
The rules for handgun use are as follows: you must shoot with a partner. No exceptions. This can be a guest, a spouse, or an EGHAA member. This is a requirement so that in the event of an accident, you have someone to call 911 for you.
The final rule of handguns at EGHAA, is that you may not use a holster unless you have successfully completed a black badge course. We run these courses from time to time at the club. If you already have your black badge and have proof - you may transfer it into our club to skip having to take the course again.
Costs to join EGHAA are as follows:
Membership applications can be obtained at our monthly meetings held on the second Tuesday of every month, 7:30pm at the EGHAA Clubhouse (except Jan/Feb), or printed from the link at the top of this webpage. Check the events calendar page for our regular meeting dates.
